McMurray’s Ductless Air Conditioning Team
While traditional HVAC systems circulate air through ductwork, a ductless mini-split system transfers heat between the units through a conduit. This brings heat into your home in the winter and removes heat in the summer. Instead of installing ductwork in your walls, we’ll simply drill a small hole for the conduit, then set up the indoor and outdoor units.
Benefits of a ductless air conditioning system include:
- Reduced air loss
- Increased efficiency
- Higher air quality
- More versatility
- Compact design
- Zoning capabilities
Leaky ductwork causes air loss, which drives up your energy bills as your HVAC system works harder to compensate. Ductwork also accumulates dirt, grime, and mold spores. Without occasional cleanings, your ductwork could circulate allergens throughout your house, lowering your indoor air quality (IAQ).
People who suffer from asthma and allergies often prefer ductless mini-split systems because they can improve their homes’ indoor air quality. If you maintain the system professionally and replace the air filter regularly, you’ll enjoy fresher air without the dust and debris buildup. Plus, you’ll save money by eliminating ductwork leaks.
Ductless air conditioning systems are also compact and versatile. You can install the indoor unit anywhere on your wall or floor, allowing you to heat and cool your space without rearranging the entire room. Their sleek appearance makes it easy for your mini-split system to blend in with the rest of your decor.
Additionally, ductless HVAC systems are more efficient than traditional models. They heat and cool only one space, not your entire house, so you’re not wasting energy on rooms that you never use. ENERGY STAR-certified ductless mini-split systems are particularly environmentally friendly and use less electricity than other versions.
If you want to zone your house, we’ll attach multiple indoor units to one outdoor unit. This allows you to change the temperatures in different zones while maintaining a centralized system. Ductless mini-split systems support up to eight zones, but smaller houses only need two or three to keep everyone comfortable.
Once we’ve installed your new system, you can count on us for ductless mini-split repairs. Loud noises, unusual odors, high energy bills, water leaks, short cycling, and fluctuating temperatures are signs that you need service. Mini-split systems last 10-15 years, so when you’re nearing the end of your system’s lifespan, ask us about ordering a replacement.
